NPF Atomfond has been operating in the Russian pension insurance market for more than a quarter of a century. It was founded as a private organization "Atomgarant" in 1994 and initially functioned as a corporate fund for workers in the nuclear and energy industries.

This was quite relevant in the 90s, when the state pension system was experiencing significant difficulties, and the pensioners themselves suffered from non-payment of cash support funds. It should be noted that the vast majority of players in the non-state pension insurance market were founded as corporate funds for the formation of pensions for workers in certain industries.
