Citizens of retirement age who do not have their own home in a number of constituent entities of the Russian Federation are provided with municipal housing, on the basis of social rent. The same rule applies if the housing owned by a pensioner is recognized as unsafe.

Tax benefits

At the state level, legislation provides benefits for pensioners regarding the payment of a number of taxes. Thus, one of the real estate properties owned by a pensioner is completely exempt from taxation. Thus, they can be served free of charge in clinics and treated in hospitals subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Federal legislation provides additional medical benefits for pensioners who are WWII veterans, disabled people, holders of the Order of Glory and a number of other categories.
